Identity
What we are to ourselves
Your identity shapes what you can receive. If you see yourself as limited, you can’t hold onto greater things—even if you dream of them. To achieve more, you must expand your self-belief. Use your words to change your identity so you’re ready to receive bigger opportunities. You can’t achieve beyond what you believe about yourself.
I know all of this sounds woo–woo, but it’s not. I’m not saying light a fire and dance around it and summon the devil. I’m saying, realize the power of your voice and the power of who you are. There is literally only one of you who thinks like you and walks like you. All the greats had to believe they were greats before they were ever great. Jim Carrey signed himself a check for 1 million the year before his first million. If you’ve watched the Michael Jackson movie, you’ll see him writing out his self-belief. The way you speak to yourself and the way you see yourself will affect the results that you get.
When you start manifesting and acting, you’ll often get attention and support from others. But if you’re afraid of success, you may sabotage yourself or shy away from relationships that can help you. Instead, get comfortable with increased attention—embrace it and allow your light to be seen.
Even as an extroverted person, you can struggle with this. A lot of attention can lead you to think that you are something which you are not. Live in abundance. Life is not a jail cell. If you want to do something, then do it. If you want to say something, say it. There are opportunities and money to go around for everyone.
Your identity is who you are; it’s made up of your past, your beliefs, people who have had an impact on you, who you tell yourself you are, what comes naturally to you and what you love.
You are not just one thing; you are a multi-dimensional thing. Nobody is simple. Everyone has some type of nuance or thing they are interested in. Something that makes them interesting.
The challenge comes in when you tell yourself you are small or meaningless. You can’t receive what you don’t believe yourself to be. Life is about changing and growing, discarding beliefs, and adding new ones. It’s nice to hold on to old ideas of who you are, but they are not you anymore. It doesn’t mean you have to kill your old self or anything, but it does mean you do have to create a new you who can do the things you want to do. This way, you can jump the ‘oh I’m just learning’ when usually everything is a problem or a lesson. When we say, ‘this is just who I am, ‘you make fewer mistakes, and every lesson is just reality catching up to who you are. You operate from confidence.
If you ever watched Yu-Gi-Oh, you’ll know that the kid has an ancient pyramid that he activates when he needs to fight, and it summons his alter ego, which is much more powerful and capable than him. This is a lot like an identity. You have the child you, and also the adult you who can deal with problems and come out when needed.
You need to believe that this alter ego exists and can do everything which you don’t think you can right now. Imagine you were him/ her and then just act.
You will receive it just about whether you believe you deserve it after you get this.
To sell is the ability to be an ambassador for a product. When people say sales is hard, they’re probably wrong. The main thing is that it is severely boring. You have to say the same things over and over again to a million different people. You must run around and show people your product, be nice enough for them to speak to you and convince them that every move they will make is wrong except yours.
A lot of people want to understand what the one secret of sales is. What are you able to do to make results go faster? There is no way for the results to go faster. If they could, you could buy 5 courses and be ahead of everyone else. There’s no miracle sentence I’ve used or attitude I’ve had. I’ve sold when I couldn’t care less, and I’ve sold when I was excited about a product. I’ve sold when I was tired and when I had a lot of energy. The fundamental is the willingness to be there and to show up. Same for life.
How do we become willing to do sales? I could tell you to think about your pain and use it as a tool or use a dream you want to go toward as motivation. But those things won’t keep you going daily just because of how difficult the work is.
You need to make a list of reasons to keep going through the day and take them regularly. Instead of cups of coffee or the gym, you need regular motivation boosts to get through. Ideally, when you’re aligned, you don’t, the work just seems good and nice. You just need to be willing to hold on to those boosts.
When I worked as a sales manager in a gym, I used to bring deeper memories when I needed them to propel me. I also used anger to push me forward. Anger for who I was and who I wanted to be. Angry that someone thought they were better than me in any way. I didn’t want to lose or to have anyone think they could play with me. I channeled all my difficulties into sales; it was an outlet and a way for me to be able to turn pain into passion.
If you are always pressured by people to be happy and you find it annoying, then this is for you. Not everyone is motivated by love and light, and you might be one of those. Sure, I worked to achieve and laugh and enjoy, but more than that, I wanted people to see me win, and I wanted people to suffer by looking at my success a bit. But mostly, you need to want success for yourself.
You get more willingness to work when your ego is dented or harmed, but it opens you up to manipulation. When people laugh at you, discard your pain, disrespect you, look down on you, and tell you that you can’t do things. Those are the greatest fuel replenishments. They’re better than the goals you have or even reaching them. They make you so angry that you push forward and take everything they said you couldn’t. I get it. But you also need to operate from love. When you operate from the other side too much, you can get manipulated easily.
It doesn’t make you a monster; it makes you an alchemist who knows how to turn pain into success and the hate they throw into a launchpad.
If your question is why I should do sales specifically, then you’re in good hands. As I said, it was an outlet for me to fuel my ambition. If you have a specialty, don’t do it. If you don’t have ambition, then do it. I would even say if you had a special, still do it, but with a mix of sales. Sales aren’t just for hard heads who didn’t go to school; sales is a thinking and strategy game. It teaches you how to grow a business so that people can grow and how to do it for everyone’s benefit.
If you are a thinker, then there is more reason to do sales. It helps you get into action mode. I would even argue that if you aren’t a thinker, you should go into the thinking world and vice versa. This allows you to lean into your weaknesses to grow them and will make you a more complex person. If you want to double down on the cards you were dealt with, do it, but you can’t outthink or outwork what you’re missing.
In nature, structures are repeated; spirals appear in shells, galaxies, and hurricanes. It’s reasonable to then say that the same is true for your underdeveloped strengths. Biomimicry is when we create things – like helicopter wings – copying structures in nature, like birds’ wings. It’s then reasonable to say that the reverse biomimicry argument – the soul also reflects nature. You will see the same underdeveloped strengths over and over again, and the structure of the challenges you keep coming across will repeat itself. If you don’t take enough action. You will keep being told that. If you don’t think you will keep being told that. So might as well grow your underdeveloped strengths.
Don’t think of this as you being broken. Your imperfect like everyone else. Perfection comes in just filling the gaps. In Japanese cultures wabi Sabi is the belief that you shouldn’t throw away broken things but just repair them. They have broken bowls and ill them with gold. Same for your character. Fill it with what you lack and you will look more authentic. Then if it wasn’t.
And what if something goes wrong? The word in Japanese for crisis also means opportunity. Everything that goes wrong is a challenge but also an opportunity. In your character, fill the flaws; in your situations, see the opportunity.
Nobody wants to hear about your problems or what you are going through. Nobody one arth so no point in complaining or being down. Even for your friends you should always put on a happy frontand never show your cards.
When you complain, you put negative energy into the world; there’s no point in doing that. See all your challenges straight away and come up with solutions, so when someone asks you, you can be positive about it. No harm in putting out bad things.
So how do you deal with difficult challenges? Notice them and break them down bit by bit. Then you will gain confidence in yourself for bigger problems. What small issues can you tackle today than can give you forward momentum? Something you’ve wanted to do for a while?
Some small errands, some diet changes. Some type of activity you wish you could do. Start there. Don’t worry about depression or something that happened in the past, or the regret for a life you could’ve had. Those opportunities didn’t materialize because you weren’t ready. You’re ready now, so do what you can with your level of knowledge and expertise.
The reason people don’t sell is that their energy isn’t right. You’re not willing or ambitious, so you don’t sell because nobody wants to speak to you. Nobody wants to speak to someone sad who isn’t where they are meant to be. People want to be around people who look like they want to be there.
How do you feel when someone’s speaking to you and they are constantly complaining or objecting bad, right? Your job as a salesperson is to instill belief in people. not objection handling, instill belief. Objection handling is too cold, and they will feel the mental tussle. Understand their worries, ask them why they think that and give them belief. If two people who don’t believe come together with what will happen, you will have two people who go nowhere.
Your job is to make people believe and push them to take action. It doesn’t matter if they say they don’t have an issue; they do. Your job is to sell to make people believe they can do what you are telling them.
Now, with this positivity and hope, you can instill belief. It doesn’t matter if you learn a product inside out or learn every word track because the client will come up with an objection you haven’t thought about, and positivity and hope will get you through that.
When you are full of energy you just go out there and say hello and people will buy. You become magnetic when you do whatever you want to do on earth. The job is to take all the blocks inside you, stopping you from doing what you want to do.
So, your actual job is to reject anything that ruins your energy and put it into things that will grow your energy and invest in your future. Not things that are a huge waste of time.
This doesn’t mean deleting all socials, cutting off your friends, and speaking to anyone. It means protecting your energy with everything that you have to make sure people can’t ruin it. If you are doing something but don’t think you can handle attacks, then keep it quiet. If you can, then grow it publicly.
Everything you do either adds to your energy or depletes it. Now, when you have a good level, then go and get what you want. Smash the phones, the emails, everything, but don’t smash the people.
In sales and marketing, you don’t drop a course and ask for 2500, you have to warm people up to you, ask them about them, what they’re doing refer to things you know, build visibility online. Then when people trust you then you sell the thing.
You need to communicate your value to people, or you will always get paid less than you deserve.
Boxing gives you the ability to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time while having fun. You will find it hard to do so without boxing and in an environment, for starters, not for pros.
Boxing starts with learning about foundations; you must plant your feet well and want to overcome them. Same as sales, you’ll get hit with one objection, another objection. You have to be able to dodge and weave and come back with a response. There are direct correlations between life and boxing.
All of this is not to give you meat and bones at this point, but to explain why I love these things and why I think you could love them as well. They help me overcome moments in life.
They’ve both helped me to ask for things I want and to fight when all the chips are down to find a new way. With your mind on your side, the ability to communicate and a fighting spirit, nobody will be able to keep you down. Your family will be proud, but most of all, you will realize how much power you have, and that’s better than any outside accomplishment.
That strength you have; you may not see it, but it is there. It has been built over the years; my job is just to remind you and amplify you so you can choose what you really want.
